"Just send me an email"

The situation

The most common polite exit in cold calling. It does not mean interested. It does not mean uninterested. You have to find out which.

What it actually means

The common mistake is "Sure, what's your email?" — you get an address, the call ends, it feels like a win, and you discovered nothing. The email converts almost never.

How it sounds

Customer

Just send me an email.

SDR

Absolutely. So I send something actually relevant — who are you using for financing today?

Customer

Yeah, just send whatever you have.

SDR

Will do. One thing though — are you running one lender or a few? It changes completely what's worth sending you.

Agree first, then learn

"Absolutely" removes the resistance instantly. The question after it is what keeps the call alive.

Never
  • Attach rate sheets or pricing to a cold follow-up. Pricing lives on the call, with a specialist.
